Hi! I'm Mehreen 👋

I am a 3rd year PhD student in Informatics at UC Irvine, advised by Dr. Elena Agapie. My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Digital Mental Health. I am interested in studying how youth use technology to self-manage their mental well-being in their daily lives and designing solutions that fulfill their mental health needs.

• I was selected to participate and present in the 2025 CRA-WP Grad Cohort for IDEALS. See you, Denver!

• My poster presentation, "The Role of Affordances in How Young Adults’ Decide Which Technology to Use for Managing Mental Health," was selected for ISRII 25, being held in San Diego! 

• I passed my written + oral comprehensive exam!! I wrote a literature review on technology use for mental health management.

• I will be the Student Volunteer Co-Chair at CSCW 24 in Costa Rica!

• June 2024: Poster Presentation for the Society for Digital Mental Health Conference

• May 2024: Attended my first CHI in Hawaii and served as a Student Volunteer for the first time!

• Apr 2024: Joined the Computer Science Alumni Association Board as the International Academia Liason for Lahore University of Management Sciences

• Apr 2023: Appointed as the Socials Co-Chair for the Informatics Graduate Student Association at UC Irvine

• Attended CSCW 22 remotely as a Student Volunteer

• Aug 2022: Started my PhD in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine
